I’ve been working on a few new drawings involving large boulders and flowers/people. There is a space between life and death, a place of contemplation and the weight of the past being opened. For me, this moment is torn and stretched between extreme opposites: pain and pleasure, death and growth. I’ve been thinking of my work as being the thin, ridged edge of a quarter, the matter between two sides, a link between seemingly opposing forces.
